The Role We're looking for a Septic Installer (Excavator Operator) to handle septic system repairs in the field — the work our service technicians diagnose and sell. This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground role. You'll be digging, installing, fixing, and making sure the job gets done right the first time. Here's what matters most: You've actually done septic repair/install work before — not just watched it You can figure things out in the field when plans change (because they will) You take pride in clean, solid work that doesn't need to be redone Every now and then, you may also help on larger installs, jump in on tougher jobs, or work alongside techs to troubleshoot issues on-site. Key Responsibilities Perform septic repairs including tanks, pumps, drain fields, and system components Dig, expose, repair, and backfill systems safely and efficiently Run or assist with equipment like mini excavators, skid steers, and trenchers Follow layouts, plans, and job scopes — while adjusting when real-world conditions don't match Make sure all work meets code and is done the right way (no shortcuts) Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe Communicate with the team about what's happening in the field — especially when something changes Spot additional issues and bring them to the team's attention Qualifications 3+ years of real septic install/repair experience Illinois Private Sewage Disposal Installation Contractors license (willing to help the right candidate obtain this). You understand how septic systems work — tanks, pumps, fields, the whole system Comfortable digging and working around existing utilities Experience running equipment is a big plus (or willingness to learn) Valid driver's license (CDL is a bonus, not required) Able to handle physical work and work outside in all conditions Shows up on time, works hard, and takes ownership of the job Doesn't cut corners — does it right even when no one's watching Why Join Our Team?
