Paving Crew Location:
Columbus, IN crews work throughout
Indiana Pay:
$28

Job:
We're a family-owned company looking for an experienced equipment operator who takes pride in a clean mat and a straight edge. If you've run a roller and a skid steer on paving jobs and you show up ready to work, we want to talk. This isn't a training position. You should be able to step onto a job site and run equipment safely with minimal supervision.
What You'll Do:
Operate asphalt rollers (double drum and/or rubber tire) to achieve specified compaction and finish
  • Operate skid steer for grading, material handling, tear-out, and site prep
  • Read and follow rolling patterns; hit density and temperature requirements
  • Perform daily equipment inspections, greasing, and basic maintenance; report issues promptly
  • Assist the crew with raking, shoveling, luting, and hand work when not on equipment
  • Set up and maintain traffic control and job site safety measures
  • Load, unload, and secure equipment on trailers
  • Work safely around paver, trucks, and ground crew at all times
What You Need:
2+ years operating asphalt rollers and skid steers on paving crews
  • Solid understanding of rolling patterns, mat temperature, and compaction
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long shifts, and work outdoors in heat and variable weather
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance — crews leave on time
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays during peak season Nice to
Have:
CDL Class A or B
  • Experience with milling, seal coating, or striping
  • Paver or screed experience
  • Flagger, OSHA 10, or traffic control certification
  • Trailer and equipment hauling experience
