Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. Heidelberg Materials is seeking a safe, dependable, and motivated Quarry Pit Loader to join our operations team. This role is responsible for operating heavy equipment to efficiently move, load, and stockpile aggregate materials while supporting production goals and maintaining a safe work environment. What You'll Be Doing Operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment to load haul trucks and manage material stockpiles. Perform pre-shift inspections and basic equipment maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation. Monitor material quality and loading activities to support efficient quarry production. Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures while working around mobile equipment. Collaborate with team members and plant personnel to maintain productivity and site organization. What Are We Looking For Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy equipment in a quarry, mining, construction, or similar industrial environment. Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company procedures. Ability to recognize equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs effectively. Dependable team player with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and perform in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Conditions of Employment Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing. Work Environment Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
