Job Description

Job Overview This position is under the supervision of the District Road Foreman. The Equipment Operator II is a non-exempt position under the FLSA. The incumbent performs skilled work in operating different types of construction and maintenance equipment. Must routinely operate a variety of heavy equipment requiring a great degree of skill in performing a variety of job assignments. This employee performs tasks related to road and bridge maintenance and construction in Linn County. Must possess sufficient knowledge and skill to operate various kinds of equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities Must be able to do all of Equipment Operator I duties and have sufficient knowledge and skill to operate additional heavy equipment such as semi-tractor trailer, tanker related equipment, track loader, track dozer, track hoe excavator, asphalt paver, chip spreader, motor grader, stabilization plant, oil distributor, double drum steel roller, and asphalt milling equipment. Assist in landfill operation as required. Assist during all hours of the day or night. Attend training and classes as required. Skills High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least twelve months' experience in operating equipment for road and bridge construction and maintenance, and operation of equipment for asphalt production and maintenance. Pay:
$15.09 - $18.91 per hour
