Heavy Equipment Operator

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a range of heavy equipment (e.g., loaders, fork trucks, overhead crane/hoist) in a safe and productive manner. Load structural steel onto trailers, rig and secure loads, and assist with shipping operations. Perform pre-shift inspections, daily maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs of equipment. Work closely with crew members in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors. Follow all jobsite safety procedures, wear required PPE, and adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Work outdoors in all weather conditions; be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs or more as required. Operate overhead cranes and hoists safely, including rigging and signaling, in coordination with shipping/logistics team. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, inspections, and hours when required. Communicate clearly—both orally and in writing—with supervisors, crew members, and logistics/shipping personnel. Participate in drug testing, as required for safety‐sensitive roles.
