An Operating Engineer or Heavy Equipment Operator drives and operates heavy equipment used in quarries, construction sites, landfills, refuse and recycling centers, or ports. Heavy Equipment may include, but is not limited to, bulldozers, excavators, paving equipment and pile drivers.

Job Description
To assist with site development by operating various types of heavy equipment in earthwork/dirt work in a safe and timely manner. Responsibilities Operates equipment of various sizes and weights while loading and unloading various materials Operates equipment such as dozer, teleboom, front-end loader, excavators & skid steers Ability to work along or with and assists the crews in digging ditches, trenches and footings. Hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with a skid steer, front end loader, dozer, and excavator Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance and provided needed repairs via text to shop supervisor. Maintain good housekeeping within equipment Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Ability to use site transits, laser levels and measuring tools A positive upbeat attitude. Be motivated and willing to grow with the company Take direction well from supervisors. Be willing to learn new tasks and take on new responsibility Capable of performing work at set tolerances while still maintaining set production rates. Able to work well as a team or independently. Requirements High school and trade school required 8+ years Experience running excavators, dozers, rubber tire loaders, skid steers Knowledge of the construction industry CDL is recommended but not required Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels. Ability to read, understand, and follow site plans, safety procedures, and industrial standards, state and federal.
