Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy machinery and equipment to support construction projects from start to finish. Your expertise will help ensure efficient project progression, adherence to safety standards, and high-quality outcomes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse sites, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and operational skills to make a tangible impact on infrastructure development and site management. Duties Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other machinery to perform earthmoving, grading, lifting, and material handling tasks. Drive and manage various trucks including front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks to transport materials and equipment across construction sites. Use specialized machinery like concrete mixers and farm equipment to support specific project needs. Conduct routine inspections of equipment before and after use to ensure safety and proper functioning; perform basic maintenance as needed. Follow all safety protocols and construction site procedures to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and others. Assist with site setup, material loading/unloading, and logistical coordination to keep projects on schedule. Communicate effectively with team members regarding equipment status, project updates, and safety concerns. Experience Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and similar machinery. Prior construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with construction processes and safety standards. Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with experience driving various types of trucks including front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tankers. Experience working with concrete mixers or farm machinery is a plus. Knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT) equipment or similar brands is advantageous. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and efficiency.
