Back Equipment Operator @ Teche Energy Job Description The equipment operator is responsible for ensuring the plant receives proper and consistent feedstock levels in a safe and efficient manner. This role also assists in managing the plant's on-site/off-site feedstock and abort material. This job consists of the following tasks, duties, and responsibilities. Employees are not limited to the following key roles and responsibilities and may be asked to perform additional duties. Key responsibilities and important duties Follow all site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures at all times Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly and ensure it is maintained in good condition Identify and immediately report safety hazards, near miss events, environmental concerns, and unsafe conditions to supervision. Participate in safety meetings, training, and required certifications to stay current with compliance requirements Perform and participate in effective handover process at the beginning and ending of each shift Efficient operation of a front-end loader, skid-steer, dozer, and excavator Attend and actively participate in both pre-shift and weekly safety meetings Complete and submit mobile equipment pre-operation and end of shift checklist Maintains communication with control room throughout the shift to ensure that feed hopper remains full when in operation Ensure that loading and abort areas are properly maintained to allow for safe and efficient operations Ensure travel paths in the area are maintained to ensure safe operation of equipment Conduct routine housekeeping including maintaining cleanliness of equipment Ensure communication between shifts of any abnormal issues occurring on shift Monitor for abnormal conditions such as leaks, unusual odors, spills, or equipment malfunctions and take appropriate action including submitting work requests to maintenance How to
