Job Description

GPS Dozer Operator Summary of PositionWe are looking for an experienced GPS Dozer Operators. The GPS Dozer operator role blends traditional heavy-equipment skill with digital layout and grade-control systems to meet exact project specifications. The project areas for this position is in the Hagerstown, Frederick, Winchester, and surrounding areas.

A successful candidate should possess strong computer skills, good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Typical Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Operate GPS-equipped dozers to achieve accurate grading, slopes, and elevations according to digital models.
  • Interpret GPS screens, grade stakes, and site plans to maintain correct grade.
  • Place, cut, and spread material efficiently across fills, pads, roads, or slopes.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance (fluids, lubrication, wear checks).
  • Document daily work, including equipment logs and progress notes.
  • Communicate with foremen, surveyors, and other operators to coordinate production. Requirements
  • Proven experience operating dozers (finish work preferred).
  • Ability to use GPS grade-control systems.
  • Strong understanding of earthmoving, grading, and material behavior.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and grade stakes.
  • High attention to safety and situational awareness.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Available to work overtime.
