Job Description

Job Summary This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mobile equipment, manual work with a shovel to put things in the loader, site cleanup, loading and unloading of trucks, general maintenance helper, and other duties. This position primarily operates loaders, forklifts and other equipment with hydraulically actuated implements. The responsibilities of the Equipment Operator include, but are not limited to: 1. Operate the mobile equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. 2. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. 3. Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area. 4. Operate equipment on public or private roadways, maintaining proper awareness of ones surroundings. 5. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment. 6. Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the equipment. 7. Site clean up 8. General plant maintenance helper Other tasks not mentioned above as required HS Diploma or GED required 1. Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a wood production facility 2. 1 to 2 years' experience operating manufacturing equipment from a control system. 3. Knowledge of forklifts, loaders, and other heavy equipment. 4. Knowledge of wood handling processes and industry requirements. 5.
