Job Description

The Town of Greenwood is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Highway Department Truck Driver, Heavy Equipment Operator, and Laborer position. This job involves the operation of trucks, sanders, plowing Town roads, assisting in maintaining Town roads, operating moderately heavy equipment, and performing related work as required. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various types of weather conditions and temperatures. Capable of working a long duration of hours. Regular Highway Department schedule is the following: Monday-Thursday 6:00a-4:30p. Position requires working some nights, weekends and holidays. Work involves seasonal operation variations, year-round. Must be able to work long hours in adverse weather conditions.
Requirements:
Previous experience preferred in plowing and maintaining Town and/or State roads, working knowledge of occupational safety, knowledge of operating and maintaining a variety of equipment utilized by the Highway Department employees. You must be able to perform manual labor and work in a small team environment. Applicants must possess a Maine CDL Class B license.
