Job Description
The Role We are seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of construction equipment, ensuring job sites remain safe, clean, and efficient. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with multiple types of heavy machinery, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Operate a range of heavy equipment, including mini excavators, backhoes, and skid steers, in a safe and efficient manner Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and basic repairs to ensure equipment is in proper working condition Load, unload, and transport equipment as needed Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites at all times Follow all company safety policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations Identify equipment issues and troubleshoot or report problems promptly Assist with general construction duties as required Train and mentor new team members on proper equipment operation and safety practices Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training to stay current on best practices Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required Valid CDL (Commercial Driver s License) preferred or required Trailer endorsement Proven experience operating heavy equipment, including mini excavators, backhoes, and skid steers Valid Drivers License Strong knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols Ability to read and follow instructions, including site plans and safety guidelines Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong communication and teamwork abilities Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused mindset Physical Requirements Must be able to walk and work on uneven terrain, including pea gravel and excavations Must be able to climb in and out of equipment safely Must be able to pull and break pipes loose Must be able to wear and properly utilize fall protection equipment Must be able to enter confined spaces to perform tasks (when trained and authorized) Must be able to pass a DOT physical Must be able to work outdoors in hot and cold environments Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and medical evaluation when required Must be able to drive for extended periods of time safely and maintain focus while operating a vehicle Must be able to work on stomach to access underground equipment for extended periods Compensation and Benefits 10 Paid Holidays Flexible Time Off 401(k) Company Match Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance HSA and FSA Disability & Occupational Accident Insurance Company-Paid Life Insurance Policy Employee Assistance Program (EAP) World-class paid training program for you to learn the skills for long term career success.
