Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our construction team! In this vital role, you will operate heavy machinery to assist in digging for underground utilities (sanitary & storm sewers and watermain) for Various construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision on-site. Demolition of buildings, not over 2 stories is a plus, but not required. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your mechanical knowledge and heavy equipment operation skills while working in a fast-paced, energetic environment committed to excellence. Duties Operate excavators and other heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, with precision and safety. Conduct routine inspections of equipment before and after use to ensure optimal performance and safety standards. Assist with various construction tasks including site preparation, grading, trenching, loading/unloading materials. Collaborate closely with project managers and team members to execute work plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment. Support other construction operations as needed, including site cleanup and material handling. Qualifications Proven experience operating excavators, other heavy equipment experience such as dozers, loaders, backhoes is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting. Prior construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety standards and site protocols. Knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT) equipment is highly desirable. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including standing for long periods, lifting heavy loads, and working in various weather conditions.
