Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will operate specialized hydrovac excavation equipment to safely and efficiently expose underground utilities, perform potholing, and assist with various construction projects. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and adherence to safety protocols will be essential in delivering precise results while maintaining a safe work environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your technical skills and support infrastructure development. Responsibilities Operate hydrovac trucks and related heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks to perform excavation tasks. Safely excavate around underground utilities and infrastructure using high-pressure water jets and vacuum systems. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of hydrovac equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards. Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites by managing site access, traffic control, and safety barriers. Collaborate with team members to interpret plans, blueprints, and technical drawings for precise excavation work. Support other heavy equipment operations including horizontal drilling, tanker handling, paving activities, and site grading as needed. Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use and hazard assessments, to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and others. Experience Prior experience operating hydrovac trucks or similar heavy equipment in construction or utility installation environments. Mechanical knowledge of hydraulic systems, pumps, and engine components relevant to hydrovac operations. Commercial driving experience with a valid driver's license suitable for operating large vehicles such as dump trucks or water trucks. Familiarity with construction site protocols, safety regulations, and equipment maintenance routines. Hands-on experience with excavators (including Caterpillar models), dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, horizontal drilling tools, tankers, and paving machinery is highly desirable. Strong understanding of underground utility installation processes and adherence to safety standards on construction sites. Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
