Summary Currently seeking dependable Yard Hostler Drivers to join the Rail Logistics Inc. team in St Louis, MO. Hostler Drivers are entry level positions with "on the job" training ~ new hires will be placed with a trainer until all aspects of training have been completed. As a Hostler Driver , you will be responsible for safely operating a hostler truck to move intermodal equipment within a rail yard setting as well as the various duties needed to prep and secure the intermodal containers after loading/unloading from railcars. Immediate availability ~ Second Shift /afternoons and weekends - scheduled days/shifts may vary depending on the needs of the facility. Additional shift availability may be discussed but is not guaranteed Responsibilities Preform accurate pre/post vehicle inspections on company owned equipment before operating Maneuver 53-foot chassis, with or without a container, within the rail yard efficiently and safely Coordinate with office personnel to ensure timely staging of equipment for units to be loaded/unloaded from railcars Assist in the pre/post loading/unloading tasks - lock/unlock chassis, install/remove/properly store inter-box connectors (IBC's), park bare chassis in parking areas, park loaded/empty units in proper parking areas Inspect trailers for damages and report any issues to the appropriate personnel Follow safety guidelines while performing the various duties, enter/exit hostler truck, climb stairs of railcars, repeatedly lifting interbox connectors (IBC's), use of required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) - reflective safety vest, safety glasses, hard hats, approved work boots, appropriate work attire.
