Full-time Excavator Operator Location:
DOE (Depends on Experience) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment and a strong commitment to safety, productivity, and quality workmanship. This role involves operating excavators and other heavy equipment to perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, material handling, and site preparation activities. The Excavator Operator will work closely with supervisors, field crews, and utility personnel to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently. Must-Have Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Must successfully pass a hands-on equipment operation test. Capable of safely towing and maneuvering a bumper-pull trailer. Knowledge of excavation techniques, trench safety, and utility locating practices. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, grade stakes, and project specifications. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications Experience in utility installation, site development, road construction, or commercial construction projects. Experience operating additional heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, skid steers, and motor graders. Key Responsibilities Operate excavators and related heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and material handling tasks. Excavate around underground utilities while maintaining required clearances and safety standards. Load trucks and move materials as directed. Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance. Maintain production goals while ensuring quality workmanship. Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety regulations. Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and utility spotters.
