Apply Today Heavy Equipment Operator Overview Full Description Why Work With WSD EEO Statement Our Hiring Process Heavy Equipment Operators run the machines that shape every job site—from dozers and excavators to loaders, graders, rollers, and on-site trucks. They move earth, set grade, and support utility and paving work with precision and safety, ensuring each project is built to Wynn's standards of quality and efficiency. Perform general manual labor tasks including but not limited to, loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. May need to answer telephone, to communicate with Foreman. Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport it. Inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure it's in good working order - Fill Out Daily Equipment Inspection List. Driving or controlling heavy equipment to complete tasks at the construction site. Monitoring performance and adjusting settings as required to perform tasks correctly. Tracking scheduled maintenance of equipment and notifying their supervisor if maintenance is past due. Cleaning equipment after use and disposing of any collected scraps or waste Completing minor repair work as needed Work with safety as a priority, keep the work area clean and clear of debris and help pick up and store materials and tools after the operation. Follow direction of foreman or designated supervisor. Provide labor support to site superintendents, other equipment operators, utilities crews or other designated site development personnel. Able to work on heavy trafficked jobsites maintaining eye contact with equipment operators as well as pedestrians to ensure maximum safety. Work with small tools hand tools including electrical, pneumatic and fuel powered tools. Able to work outdoors safely and effectively in extreme weather climates- cold, heat, rain, fog. Dig ditches by hand and/or help in the moving/removing of dirt for grading of lots, roads, and walkways. May be trained to operate multiple types of equipment including rollers, off road trucks and other heavy equipment as needed. May be trained to check grade using GPS equipment or stakes. Assist in jobsite cleanup as well as landscape cleanup and maintenance. Performs all work in conformance to company Health and Safety program. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment for the task at hand. Assist skilled laborers and/or operators.
