The Heavy Equipment Operator (Foreman) will safely operate construction equipment and machinery as well as lead, plan and organize a small crew of construction staff on various projects throughout the construction season. Projects may include mass excavations, grading projects, site development and prep and demolition.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Operates specialized machinery such as Excavators, Dozers and Graders Running / Leading a small crew of 5-10 employees Scheduling & organizing project work-flow Ability to inspect and assess ground conditions to ensure that equipment and personnel security Ability to guide and train others on how to properly & safely operate machinery and other various pieces of equipment on the job site Inspects equipment for defects and wear prior to operation; performs necessary repairs or maintenance Complies with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices Maintains logs and records of operation activities Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

Must have worked with, and understand Global Positioning Systems (GPS) as it relates to duties & responsibilities listed above Surveying knowledge Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems. Ability to communicate with customers in a professional manner. Strong focus on safety and teamwork mandatory.

Education and Experience:

5+ Years of Heavy Equipment operation (various pieces of equipment)

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Excellent depth perception and reaction time. Visual acuity to follow hand signals, maintain logs, and inspect and maintain machinery. May work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold.

Job Type:

Full-time Expected hours: 40 +

Wage:

Dependent on Experience (DOE)+ Fringe Benefits. Position also has upward mobility / salaried potential
