JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, graders, excavators, rollers, tractor/trailers, dump trucks, and sidewalk plows/blowers in the performance of work associated with the construction and maintenance of parks, winter and emergency operations, and other construction projects assigned by the Parks Foreman and Superintendent. Duties include loading and unloading materials and equipment transported by truck, daily maintenance of equipment, excavating trenches for utilities, and moving, hauling, and delivering equipment and supplies with a tractor/trailer or dump truck with tag a-long trailers. Performs related tasks in the care of athletic fields and other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 6:45 am to 2:45 pm, is part of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position has an hourly rate not to exceed $30.27 SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or certified equivalent and 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience is required
Must possess valid CDL-A license
Must have training and/or experience necessary to attain considerable skill in the operation of backhoes, trucks and heavy equipment under all types of weather conditions
Must have a good knowledge of traffic rules and regulations
