Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Duty Wrecker Operator with a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)! In this energetic role, you'll be the essential expert behind safely and efficiently towing, recovery, and roadside assistance for heavy-duty vehicles. Your mechanical aptitude, driving skills, and customer service mindset will help keep our fleet moving and our clients satisfied. This position offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art tow trucks and recovery equipment while making a tangible difference on busy roads and highways. Duties Operate heavy-duty tow trucks and flatbed wrecker equipment to recover disabled or damaged vehicles safely and efficiently Load, unload, and secure vehicles using appropriate tools such as straps, chains, and winches Perform basic automotive diagnostics and repairs when necessary to prepare vehicles for transport or troubleshoot issues on-site Maintain detailed logs of all recoveries, loads, and service calls for accountability and reporting purposes Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and emergency responders to coordinate safe recovery operations Conduct routine inspections of wrecker equipment, including hydraulic systems, tires, lights, and safety features to ensure optimal performance Assist with mechanical repairs or diagnostics using mechanical knowledge and mechanic experience to troubleshoot issues with tow trucks or customer vehicles Skills Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and experience in commercial driving environments Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair and diagnostics Familiarity with manual transmissions, flatbed setups, forklift operation, and tow truck equipment Excellent customer service skills to handle interactions professionally during stressful roadside situations Ability to load & unload vehicles safely while adhering to safety protocols Conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations on the road or at recovery sites Knowledge of automotive systems including brakes, engines, transmissions, and electrical components to assist in diagnostics or repairs This role is perfect for motivated individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about vehicle recovery and roadside assistance.
