Wisdom, Family, Trust, Commitment, Reliability, Integrity, and Accountability The Position We are seeking an experienced, motivated Civil & Utility Heavy Equipment Operator to join our field team. This isn't a role for someone who just wants to sit in a cab all day—we need a powerhouse operator who can actively run a sitework project, drive daily crew production, and step down to assist with labor on-site whenever necessary to get the job done.

Primary Responsibilities Heavy Equipment Operation & Operations:
High-precision operation of heavy civil machinery including excavators, backhoes, dozers, loaders, skid steers, compactors, and rollers. Execute cut/fill/haul-off earthmoving operations and perform precise, accurate excavations for building footings and structural foundations. Handle rough and fine grading for hardscapes and landscapes, including building slabs, parking lots, sidewalks, pathways, and lawn areas.
Utility Installation & Sitework:
Install comprehensive underground utility systems, including water lines, sanitary sewers, storm drainage lines, and heavy utility structures (catch basins, manholes, septic tanks). Manage onsite stormwater pollution protection (SWPPP), erosion controls, and sediment management. Oversee site demolition, physical site preparation, and daily site organization.
Crew Leadership & Project Logistics:
Manage and motivate a field crew daily to achieve strict production targets and maintain elite project efficiency. Plan and schedule daily/weekly site workflows while working closely with project managers and estimators to track milestones, job production, and potential change orders. Order site materials in a timely manner to prevent project delays; coordinate and manage subcontractor performance on-site. Investigate and resolve field issues seamlessly alongside owners, engineers, architects, and superintendents. Maintain accurate, up-to-date as-built working drawings and ensure 100% adherence to OSHA safety regulations and company safety standards daily.
Qualifications Required:
4+ years of proven experience operating heavy machinery on civil, utility, or sitework projects. Deep, advanced knowledge of excavation, grading, site layout, and underground utility means and methods. Ability to read, comprehend, and execute elevations and layout directly from construction blueprints and specs. Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation to get to various WNY job sites. Physical capability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions and lift 80+ lbs routinely. Minimum OSHA 10 certification. Positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire for a stable, long-term career. Willingness to submit to a background check and drug screening. Preferred (But Not Required): Direct experience running and managing a commercial sitework project and leading field personnel (Highly Valued). Proficiency using GPS / Total Station layout equipment. OSHA 30 or
HAZWOPER
