We are not just building roads - we are building futures. Barrett Paving Materials is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a loader operator, in our Norwood, NY location. Main Responsibilities Must be proficient on a front-end loader. Operate power construction equipment, such as: bulldozers, front-end loaders, backhoes, scrapers, motor graders, and shovels. Heavy equipment operators drive heavy construction equipment and control their attachments, such as buckets, swing booms, scrapers and blades. Comprehend specifications and instructions, both verbal and written. Working with heavy-duty machinery requires knowledge of and strict adherence to safety regulations. Repair and replace crusher components such as: conveyor belts, guarding, rollers etc. Education High School Diploma or GED Minimum of one year of experience operating heavy equipment. Skills Previous experience equipment and/or working in an Aggregate or HMA plants is preferred. Good mechanical skills for equipment repair and fabrication is desirable. Flexibility to work varying shifts and hours based on market demands. Typically 60+ hours MSHA certification is considered a plus. Physical Requirements Climb onto and down from equipment several times a day. Withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment. Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE), as required. Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.
