Job Description

Aerotek is hiring for a Heavy Equipment Operator with WEEKLY pay! M-F DAY shift 45-50 hours a week Job Summary The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery used in specialty contracting projects such as site development, excavation, grading, demolition, and utility installation. This role ensures projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to company and client specifications. This role operates heavy equipment to support power line construction through a wetlands environment Key Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers, graders, backhoes, and compactors Perform excavation, trenching, grading, and site preparation tasks Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, grades, and staking instructions Load and unload materials, including dirt, rock, debris, and construction supplies Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance (fueling, greasing, cleaning, etc.) Identify and report mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately Work closely with supervisors, laborers, and other crew members to meet project timelines Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies at all times Assist with manual labor tasks when equipment operation is not required Maintain a clean and organized work environment Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) GPS grading system experience Experience with utility work (water, sewer, gas lines) OSHA certifications (10-hour or 30-hour) Experience in specialty contracting areas such as pipeline, energy, environmental, or infrastructure projects Work Environment This is a fully outdoor role in a wetlands environment where crews support the drilling and construction of approximately 5 miles of power lines. You will work Monday through Friday from about 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a half-hour lunch, and typically finish between late morning and early afternoon on Fridays. Work continues in most weather conditions, including rain, and involves standing and walking on uneven, muddy, and wooded terrain throughout the day. The environment includes active construction sites with skid steers, drilling equipment, and other heavy machinery, requiring strict adherence to safety practices and use of appropriate field attire and protective gear. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterford, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
