This role combines the physical demands of operating heavy equipment in a busy retail yard with providing exceptional support to our sales team. You will be instrumental in ensuring smooth yard operations, safely handling materials, and assisting the sales staff with their needs to make the business sucessful. Duties Operate various types of heavy equipment including forklift loaders, excavators, to load and unload materials efficiently and safely. Maintain the yard by organizing materials, ensuring proper storage, and keeping the work area clean and safe. Assist inside sales team by providing knowledgeable support on product availability, specifications, and delivery schedules. Verify inventory levels and prepare orders for delivery or pickup, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment to ensure proper operation and report any maintenance needs promptly. Communicate effectively with team members and customers to coordinate deliveries, pickups, and equipment needs. Backup our regular delivery driver as needed for local deliveries. Assist on keeping and maintaining a clean work environment inside and outside facilities. Qualifications Proven experience operating the necessary equipment such as forklifts, loaders, excavators . Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks on equipment. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL, preferred) or equivalent for safe operation of trucks and delivery vehicles. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards and lift 50 lbs or more without issue. Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail when supporting inside sales functions.
