Full-Time | Direct Hire Position Overview We are a well-established heavy civil construction company in the Charleston, SC area seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / Civil Superintendent with strong sitework leadership skills. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who excels in fine grading, understands civil blueprints, and can confidently manage crews while operating equipment. If you take pride in precision, productivity, and running clean, efficient jobsites, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Perform fine grading using a dozer with a high level of accuracy Read, interpret, and execute work based on civil blueprints and plans Grade and prepare: Ponds Building pads and house pads Roads, curbs, and parking lots Operate excavators for storm drain installation Perform grading math , shoot grades, and set GPS/laser systems Oversee site development processes from start to finish Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently Lead and manage a crew, including scheduling and daily coordination Required Experience & Skills Proven experience in heavy civil sitework Strong background in precision grading Extensive knowledge of storm drain installation Confident use of GPS and laser grading systems Ability to manage crews and maintain production schedules Commitment to jobsite safety and quality workmanship Compensation & Benefits $32-$40/hour starting pay , based on experience 401(k) with 6% company match Large annual performance bonus (paid every November) Excellent health benefits package 3 weeks of Paid Time Off to start Company truck or vehicle allowance Gas card for work-related travel Direct hire or fast transition to company payroll Why Join Us?
