Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled CDL Truck Driver/Equipment Operator with experience in the dirt work industry to operate various heavy machinery and transport materials to and from job sites. The ideal candidate will have a Class A CDL license (air brake endorsment and ability to drive manual) and a proven track record of safe driving and efficient equipment operation. If you do not have experience operating construction equipment that can be trained!

Responsibilities:

Safely operate and maneuver company vehicles, including dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and other heavy equipment, to transport materials and equipment to and from job sites. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the safe operation of vehicles and equipment, reporting any maintenance or repair needs promptly. Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies using appropriate machinery and techniques, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations. Operate heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, skid and pay loaders, and rollers to perform various tasks such as excavation, grading, backfilling, and site preparation. Follow project plans, and specifications to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including vehicles, equipment, and job sites. Communicate effectively with company owner and team members to ensure smooth operations and project success. Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures to promote a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Requirements:

Valid Class A CDL license Clean driving record. Preferred but not required is experience operating various heavy machinery, including but not limited to bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and rollers. Proficiency in performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment. Ability to follow project plans, blueprints, and specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work overtime, and travel to different job sites as needed.

This is a year round position with some decreased hours in the winter- WJS Contracting does snow removal during the off season to ensure no layoffs of team members.
