Job Description
Heavy Equipment Operator Southern Construction Group, LLC Join our dynamic team in East Tennessee as a Heavy Equipment Operator . We are a leading company in the construction industry, known for our commitment to safety, quality, and innovation. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects, utilizing your expertise in operating heavy machinery and Trimble GPS systems to ensure precision and efficiency in grading and earthmoving tasks. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, graders, and loaders, to perform construction tasks. Utilize Trimble GPS systems for accurate grading and excavation work. Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and specifications to execute tasks effectively. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures on job sites. Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and crew members to achieve project goals. Maintain detailed logs and records of work completed for project tracking. Assist in supervising earth-moving operations to ensure efficiency and quality. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment. Proficiency in using Trimble GPS systems for grading and excavation. Strong knowledge of construction site safety protocols. Ability to read and interpret construction plans. Valid drivers license (CDL preferred but not required). Physical ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy objects as needed. Experience supervising earth-moving operations is preferred. Certifications in heavy equipment operation are a plus. Experience in road construction and site development is advantageous. OSHA or MSHA safety training certification is preferred.
