Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Finish Dozer Operator to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy-duty bulldozers to perform finishing grading, site leveling, and excavation tasks that ensure the project meets precise specifications. Your expertise will help create smooth, stable surfaces and prepare sites for subsequent construction activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment on diverse construction projects, contributing directly to the successful completion of large-scale infrastructure developments. Responsibilities Operate finish dozers and related heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, and water trucks to perform precise grading, excavation, and site preparation tasks. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal safety and performance in accordance with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures. Follow construction plans and specifications accurately to achieve desired site grades and contours. Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and utility locating teams to ensure utility lines are identified and protected during grading activities. Maintain detailed records of daily operations, equipment usage, and safety checks. Adhere strictly to safety regulations, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and safe operating procedures on all heavy machinery. Assist with construction utility work such as trenching or backfilling as needed to support ongoing infrastructure development. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery including bulldozers (preferably Caterpillar), excavators, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks in a construction environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance on equipment. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred. Construction site experience with grading, excavation, utility locating, and utility work highly desirable. Ability to read construction plans and follow detailed instructions accurately. Knowledge of construction grading techniques and equipment maintenance practices. Demonstrated ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
