Job Description
Assists with landfill maintenance and operation duties by operating heavy equipment such as a backhoe, dozer, compactor, scraper, front-end loader, and dump truck. Loads incoming refuse into the baler belt from the baler floor. Covers refuse disposal sites with dirt daily. Digs trenches for refuse disposal. Operates baler as needed. Loads completed bales onto the truck and unloads them at disposal areas. Maintains baler and baler facility. Perform basic maintenance and repairs daily to ensure it is in proper operating condition. Blades slope to remove erosion damage. Maintains access roads. Inspects all equipment before use to ensure that it is in proper operating condition. Performs routine equipment maintenance, including checking fluid levels, belts, hoses, and other components. Assists in the landfill office as needed.
