Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Finish Dozer Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy-duty bulldozers to perform precise grading, leveling, and site preparation tasks essential for construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure the smooth progression of construction activities, adhering to safety standards and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your heavy equipment operation skills to contribute to successful site development. Duties Operate finish dozers and other heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, backhoes, and horizontal drilling equipment to perform grading, excavation, and site leveling tasks. Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations. Assist with construction utility work by locating underground utilities and ensuring safe excavation practices. Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe work environment. Collaborate with team members to execute construction grading, paving, and site preparation activities efficiently. Support other heavy equipment operations as needed, including Caterpillar dozers and other machinery essential for project success. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety inspections. Other duties as may be assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, backhoes, and water trucks in a construction setting. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance on equipment. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation. Construction site experience with utility locating, excavation, grading, paving, and utility work preferred. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent for operating trucks such as dump trucks or tanker vehicles is highly desirable. Knowledge of horizontal drilling techniques and construction utility work is a plus. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a high level of safety awareness.
