Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for the proper handling of sand & gravel materials, and for the safe and proper care and maintenance of concrete equipment assigned to the Loader Operator. Keep the plant hoppers loaded with the proper amount of raw material; break up large rocks to a manageable size; notify Aggregates Manager of any impending shortages. Stock pile excess raw material to be processed. Operate Mud Cat, excavating hoe and other vehicles and heavy equipment as required. Move materials as requested. Load dump trucks, trailers, and pickups with the proper amount of requested material as required. To understand and observe all policies and procedures including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Training Manual, SAFE Policy, Safety Manual and Drug Free Work Place Manual. Operation of Equipment Safe and efficient operation of front end loader. Maintain fullness of plant hoppers with proper material Cleaning and Maintenance of Equipment Perform pre and post trip inspections Prepare Daily Inspection Reports Weekly and general vehicle maintenance (including but not limited to preventive maintenance, making adjustments, replacing minor parts and lubricating the loader where required and when necessary) Plan/Yard General Housekeeping Plant/Yard maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned (to include but not limited to sweeping and other general cleanup work) Customer Relations/Other Duties Understand and observe Company's policies and procedures regarding customer relations. Must be able to perform other duties, tasks as directed by Management or as necessary
Desired Qualifications Education:
High School Education or equivalent desired Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in
English and Skills:
Must be dependable, a team player and be able to operate heavy equipment in a skillful and consistently safe manner in order to prevent accidents. Must be able to deal professionally with customers, plant employees, dispatchers and mechanics.
Experience:
Loader operator experience and/or similar type of heavy equipment experience. Restrictions Must be able to safely maneuver in and out of loader Ability to perform safety inspections of vehicle Manipulate all loader controls safely and accurately Perform multiple tasks of sustained viewing activity at rear of loader utilizing mirror while driving and manipulating controls Must be able to safely lift/maneuver 75 pounds frequently through the workday Must be able to work flexible hours/weekends as necessary
