As a Heavy Equipment Operator II, you will operate light to heavy vehicles and equipment in the installation, maintenance and repair functions associated with the assigned functional area. Assist with labor intensive, complex construction, maintenance and repair work, work independently or as part of a work crew in installation, maintenance and repair activities in the management and care of infrastructure and properties. Operate equipment that includes, but is not limited to, backhoes, Motor grader, compactors, trenching machines, potholing machines, bulldozers, water trucks, front-end loaders, excavators, scrapers, brush-clearing equipment, and hand tools. Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment in accordance with company procedure. Learn and follow safety regulations. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks. Participate in routine maintenance of equipment. Able to respond to emergency and after-hour calls on nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Identify potential hazards during installation, maintenance and repair projects; determine appropriate equipment operating procedures accordingly.
  • Perform in the safe and proper operation of tools, vehicles and equipment; adhere to prescribed safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in work-site safety set-up, e.g., setting barricades and cones, prepping for excavation, assisting with utility locates, prepping for confined space entry in accordance with SOP safety standards.
  • May perform duties of Equipment Operator I, II or Roustabout. Work directly with Supervisor to assist with field crews or subcontractors and perform specialty programs.
  • Assumes Foreman responsibilities in his/her absence.

Ideal candidates will have:
  • High school diploma or general degree (GED)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of four-years related experience.
  • The ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Excellent problem-solving and reasoning abilities Your Work Schedule & Hours
