Senior Utility Heavy Equipment Operator City of Irving Texas - 4.0 Irving, TX Job Details Full-time $23.10 - $32.56 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Qualifications Water utility distribution CDL A High school diploma or GED Pneumatic systems Backhoe operation Full Job Description Duties include operating various types of equipment and heavy machinery; maintaining and repairing water and / or wastewater systems; answering questions and providing information to the public; preparing a variety of reports; providing assistance in maintaining stock of supplies and materials; supervising one or more maintenance workers in the absence of the crew leader; and performing maintenance support duties necessary to the continued efficient operation of the department. This position may be utilized as part of the in-house pipe laying crew replacing aged water and wastewater systems. A high school diploma or GED and two years water and wastewater maintenance or related experience required. A Class A CDL Texas driver's license and a current state-mandated TCEQ Class C Water and Collection II Wastewater licenses also required. Must have the ability to operate a backhoe and other heavy equipment and have knowledge of water boring equipment, pneumatic missiles and other tools / equipment used in the repair and maintenance of water and wastewater mains. Day, evening or night shift may be available. Will work in the stand-by repair crew rotation as required. Applicants must submit hours of availability with application.
