Competitive hourly rate based on experience Job Overview We are hiring a dependable and safety-focused Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator to support dailylandfill operations. This role operates heavy equipment used for waste placement, compaction, cover application, road maintenance, and dust control while maintaining compliance with safety andenvironmental regulations. This is a hands-on position in an outdoor, fast-paced environment. What Youll Do Operate landfill equipment including compactors, bulldozers, excavators, track loaders, articulateddump trucks, water trucks, and skid steers. Place, spread, compact, and cover waste in accordance with landfill operating plans. Maintain proper grades, slopes, haul roads, and drainage. Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required logs. Perform basic preventive maintenance including fueling, lubrication, cleaning equipment, and cleaningtracks and undercarriage as required. Communicate with spotters, supervisors, and truck drivers to maintain safe traffic flow. Assist with litter control, housekeeping, and other site duties as needed. Follow all company policies, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations. What Were Looking For Prefer a minimum of 1 year of heavy equipment operating experience. Landfill or solid waste experience is a plus. Ability to safely operate multiple types of heavy equipment. Strong safety awareness and ability to follow site procedures. Basic mechanical knowledge and attention to detail. Valid drivers license required; CDL preferred depending on assignment. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment. Ability to climb on and off equipment multiple times per shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including exposure to dust, odors, noise, andvibration.
