Position Summary This position operates heavy equipment to facilitate operation of the NTMWD Transfer Stations. Responsible for the operation of equipment used to compact and convey solid waste into transfer trucks. Occasionally will assist Scale Operators to check in commercial customers and Member City residents. Works under general supervision. Job Responsibilities Operates and monitors performance of construction type heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, skid steer, and equipment used to compact and transport solid waste with minimal supervision. Directs waste-haulers to proper disposal area. Monitors certain process operations as directed by supervisor. Responsible for housekeeping in assigned units. Responsible for observing safe work practices. Verify that delivered waste is in accordance with applicable rules and regulations. Work may vary depending on task requirements but may include general site cleanup and maintenance. Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
