Wheel Loader Operator

GWG Wood Group is looking for dependable heavy equipment operator to work at our satellite yard in Sherman, Texas. The Wheel Loader Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment—primarily a wheel loader—to move and load materials such as mulch, soil, compost and aggregates. This role supports retail operations in Sherman by ensuring efficient material handling while maintaining safety and equipment standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a wheel loader to load trucks, move materials, and stockpile aggregates Perform pre-operational inspections (fluids, tires, hydraulics, safety systems) Ensure proper loading techniques to avoid spillage or equipment damage Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure site safety and avoid hazards Communicate with Ferris office on product inventory levels Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed Keep equipment clean and in good working condition Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage and production

Qualifications:

Proven experience operating a wheel loader or similar heavy equipment Valid driver's license Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment operation standards Ability to read site plans and follow instructions Strong hand-eye coordination and depth perception

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8 AM to 4
