Moving Equipment:

Using a yard tractor to move trailers, containers, and other equipment around the yard to and from loading docks, parking areas, and staging zones. Positioning for

Loading/Unloading:

Ensure trailers are properly aligned to dock doors and positioned for efficient loading and unloading operations.

Safety Checks:

Performing daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard truck to ensure it is safe and operational.

Communication:

Coordinating with other yard personnel, warehouse staff, and drivers to ensure smooth operations and efficient movement of equipment throughout the yard.

Documentation:

Maintaining accurate records of trailer locations and movements. Updating yard check documentation throughout the shift.

Yard Management System Usage:

Must be comfortable using a tablet and yard management system to track trailer movements, update trailer locations, monitor dock activity, and maintain accurate real-time records throughout the shift.

Yard Maintenance:

Keeping the yard clean, organized, and free of debris.

Additional Duties:

Inventory Management:

Assisting with tracking and managing on-hand inventory for yard truck.

Assisting Drivers:

Providing guidance and assistance to drivers entering or exiting the yard. Operating other

Machinery:

May be required to operate forklifts, to help around the warehouse as needed.

Shift Required:

5:30 AM - 2:00 PM Monday through Friday. Saturdays may be required depending on business needs.

$22.00 per hour

Yard jockey: 2 years (Preferred)
