Loader Operator Location:
Emporia, VA Full-Time Position Competitive Pay + Benefits Join Our Team We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Loader Operator to support daily production operations in a fast-paced aggregate, quarry, concrete, or material handling environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, maintaining production flow, and working safely around personnel, trucks, and processing equipment. Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Operation Operate wheel loaders and other heavy equipment to move, load, and stockpile materials. Load haul trucks, crushers, hoppers, conveyors, and processing equipment efficiently and accurately. Manage material movement throughout the site to support production goals. Maintain stockpile organization and ensure proper material separation. Equipment Inspection & Maintenance Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of equipment and work areas. Monitor fluid levels, tires, hydraulic systems, lights, brakes, and safety devices. Perform routine servicing including fueling, greasing, and cleaning equipment. Identify and report mechanical issues or repair needs promptly. Production Support Work closely with plant operators, supervisors, dispatch personnel, and truck drivers. Ensure materials are delivered to the correct locations while minimizing downtime. Assist with plant operations and production activities as needed. Support operational efficiency through proactive communication and teamwork. Site Housekeeping Maintain clean and organized work areas. Remove debris, material buildup, and safety hazards around equipment and plant facilities. Properly store tools and equipment after use. Contribute to a professional and safety-focused work environment. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety policies and regulatory requirements. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and training programs. Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or hazards. Qualifications Previous experience operating wheel loaders, front-end loaders, or similar heavy equipment preferred. Equipment similar to CAT 980. Knowledge of aggregate, quarry, construction, or industrial operations is a plus. Ability to perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
