Overview WCC Cable, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Fredericksburg, VA. If you have experience in road construction, civil construction, and operating a variety of heavy equipment, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and Caterpillar machinery to perform excavation, grading, lifting, and material handling tasks. Manage the operation of various trucks including front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks to transport materials and supplies across the site. Assist with concrete mixing and placement activities using concrete mixers and related equipment to support foundation and structure work. Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Follow safety protocols diligently during equipment operation and construction activities to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks efficiently, troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly, and adapt to changing project needs. Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, maintenance records, and site activities for accountability and reporting purposes. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other machinery on active construction sites. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on heavy equipment. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with experience driving various trucks including front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks. Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and OSHA standards. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and productivity. Knowledge of construction materials and processes related to concrete mixing, farm machinery operation, and heavy-duty hauling equipment is a plus. $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
