Hydrovac Operator

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Ross & Sons Utility Contractor, Inc. is currently seeking a talented Hydrovac Operator, who is dedicated to professional growth for our company. Hydrovac Operators are responsible for operating and managing hydrovac trucks to perform excavation jobs. This position is also responsible to complete projects in a safe and timely manner. Ross & Sons installs and maintains natural gas pipeline for Virginia Natural Gas. Our Newport News location typically services Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Poquoson. This is a full-time position with possible overtime hours and occasional Saturday work. All applicants must have transportation to and from our Newport News location with a valid commercial drivers license. Also, a drug screening is mandatory prior to being offered a position.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete hydro excavation projects including natural gas line exposure, debris removal, trenching, dewatering, and digging as needed for specific job Operate hydrovac trucks and equipment safely Inspect grounds for safe zones, safety precautions, and other hazards at every job site Complete all paperwork in a timely manner as needed by management Conduct routine truck inspections to ensure proper working order

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work overtime if needed by supervisor Stand, kneel, walk, etc for long periods of time Able to take First Aid courses to ensure safety knowledge All other duties as required by business needs

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Minimum High School Diploma Hydrovac Operating Experience CDL License Clean MVR Must pass background check and drug screen prior to hire

$26.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 45.0 - 55.0 per week
