Box Truck Pick Up and Delivery Driver

United Cartage is currently looking for reliable and honest individuals who can operate a 26ft box truck. Applicant MUST have a valid driver's license, DOT physical, a clean background check to access military bases in the area, and be able to pass a drug test. Driver Responsibilities:

Deliver products to customers in a safe and timely manner by way of Box Truck. Arrive for daily shift on time and when scheduled. Maintain a satisfactory driving record and adhere to company guidelines regarding quality assurance and safety. Maintain truck cleanliness and meet company standards for daily truck maintenance. Make any/all deliveries assigned by the supervisor, including but not limited to route deliveries and late runs/pickups Maintain open communication with Dispatch Other duties as required.

The successful candidate will possess:

High School Diploma or GED At least 6 months of Non-CDL Commercial driving experience The ability to gain access to secured locations, such as military bases A driving record with no more than two moving violations within a 12 month period Ability to operate a commercial vehicle, handcart, hand jack, and other equipment as required Exceptional work ethic and team-building attitude Exceptional customer service skills Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Must hold necessary licensing requirements and credentials to operate company commercial vehicles, to include DOT physical Ability to pass a drug test An understanding of the trucking industry standards An understanding of the area's traffic, including tunnel and surrounding cities (Suffolk, Chesapeake, etc.) The ability to remain calm under pressure Abiltiy to read English Ability to follow instructions
