Job Description

Summary :
The Yard Hostler (Non-CDL) Operator is responsible for safely operating a diesel-powered yard tractor to move and position trailers within designated loading docks and staging areas on company premises. This role involves conducting pre- and post-operation inspections of the tractor, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and assisting in the loading and unloading of trailers as necessary.
The shift will work:
Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Starting Pay:
$20.00 per hour
What You'll Be Doing:
Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of the yard tractor, reporting defects and arranging necessary repairs. Safely attach drive units to trailers or containers and move them to and from dock doors for loading and unloading, ensuring dock locks and chocks are used. Assist warehouse personnel in the loading and unloading of trailers when required. Perform daily yard checks to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained. Remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or visitors on company premises. Maintain compliance with company safety rules and regulations.
What You Need:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. B.
Experience:
Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position. C.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
Valid Class E Driver's License required; CDL within classes A, B, or C preferred but not mandatory. Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to stand, sit, squat, crawl, bend, twist, and kneel. Navigate through narrow, confined spaces. Work on sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces. Exposure to varying temperatures and high noise levels.
