Job Description

We are currently seeking an Asphalt Roller Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in asphalt paving operations and possess the skills necessary to operate equipment effectively and safely. However, we are willing to train the right candidate.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on the job site Collaborate with paving crew members to ensure efficient workflow and quality results Operate asphalt roller equipment to compact asphalt surfaces according to project specifications Monitor asphalt temperatures and adjust rolling patterns as needed to achieve desired compaction Follow proper techniques and methods including timing, pinching joints, stopping angles, proper watering of rolls and wheels, etc. Avoid excessive starting and stopping Be a team player and help wherever is needed. SAFETY Assist with the adherence of the SDI Safety Plan. Be responsible for housekeeping and conducting regular inspections of work areas for unsafe conditions and unsafe acts. Set an example for employees by wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce their use. Assist in the reporting of all incidents and/or injuries immediately. Report all incidents and submit an Accident/Injury Report to a Safety Officer. Must have a valid driver's license. Applicants will be subject to drug screening and pre-employment physical. S.D.
