Job Description:

We are seeking a few skilled and experienced Construction Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment used in construction projects. This role requires attention to safety, precision, and efficiency in completing tasks on job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes in both on road and off-road settings. Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grading specifications. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures. Work collaboratively with site supervisors and crew members. Report any equipment malfunctions or necessary repairs promptly. Help assist others with proper equipment techniques.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a construction equipment operator. Valid certification or license to operate heavy machinery (if required by state or local regulations). Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment maintenance. Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Basic math skills and understanding.

Preferred Qualifications:

CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus. OSHA certification or other relevant safety training. Experience in roadwork, excavation, or utility installation. Topcon GPS experience.

Working Environment:

Typical working environment is working mostly on 1 or 2 different project sites per week in all weather conditions. Typical working hours vary based on weather conditions and seasons, but summer months are typically 40+ hours a week, 5 days a week and winters tend to be right around 40 hours a week, weather permitting. We typically try to avoid working Saturdays or Sundays, however the occasional Saturday may be required during the busy summer season.
