$45 - $55/hourLocation:
Woodinville, WA Skillforce is seeking a highly experienced Heavy Equipment Operator Foreman to lead field operations on civil and environmental excavation projects. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible not only for operating equipment, but also for overseeing crews, coordinating daily work activities, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can manage crews in the field, communicate effectively with project management, and maintain high production standards while working in complex and environmentally sensitive conditions. Schedule is Monday through Friday, averaging 45-50 hours per week.Key Responsibilities:
Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily activities of equipment operators, laborers, and field personnel Plan and execute excavation work in alignment with project schedules, site plans, and specifications Operate heavy equipment as needed, including excavators (mini up to 120k lb.), dozers, loaders, and skid steers Oversee mass excavation, precision digging, and fine grading operations using laser levels and grade stakes Ensure safe work practices and compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements Coordinate work around utilities, structures, and environmentally sensitive areas Direct installation and use of trench shoring systems (slide rail, trench boxes, etc.) Communicate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to maintain workflow and resolve issues Provide layout support including verifying grades, elevations, and excavation limits Monitor crew productivity and adjust workflow to meet project goals Perform equipment inspections and ensure proper maintenance and safe operation Mentor and support crew members to maintain a strong, safety-focused team environmentQualifications:
5+ years of experience in civil or environmental excavation, with proven foreman or crew leadership experience Strong background operating excavators and other heavy equipment in both production and technical applications Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, grading plans, and specifications Demonstrated experience managing crews and coordinating field operations In-depth knowledge of trench safety, shoring systems, and excavation best practices Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to direct teams effectively Ability to work in tight spaces, around utilities, and on active job sitesCertifications:
OSHA 10 or 30 (required; training available if needed)HAZWOPER
