Job Description

Introduction The State of Wisconsin, Department of Military Affairs (DMA), Volk Field, is seeking a Limited Term Employment (LTE) Heavy Equipment Operator, in Camp Douglas, WI. Volk Field is one of only four Air National Guard Combat Readiness Training Centers in the nation, and the only one that does not share its airfield with a civilian airport. The Training Center Mission is to provide a year-round integrated training environment (airspace, facilities, equipment) for units to enhance their combat capabilities and readiness. Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status. During emergencies, no single organization can handle the response. The DMA consists of several organizations working together to plan, prepare, coordinate, and respond effectively when our communities and neighbors need us the most. We offer an opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals and meaningful work for an organization with a truly worthwhile mission.
