Overtime:
Available and paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate. About the Opportunity We are a staffing agency hiring on behalf of a reputed client providing facilities maintenance services at a large medical center in Montgomery and Tuskegee, Alabama . The successful candidate will be assigned primarily to one campus but may be required to work at either the Montgomery or Tuskegee location based on operational needs. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable organization and help maintain the appearance, safety, and functionality of a busy healthcare facility serving patients, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities As a Maintenance Painter, you will: Apply paint and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Perform painting work to achieve smooth, professional finishes that meet required thickness and quality standards. Operate painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and graining devices for decorative finishes. Prepare surfaces by sanding, smoothing, filling, shaping, and leveling before painting. Repair and repaint interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, and other building components. Remove wallpaper and prepare surfaces for refinishing. Maintain a clean and safe work area while following established safety procedures.
Qualifications Applicants must have:
Minimum 3 years of documented, verifiable experience as a commercial or maintenance painter. A current resume detailing relevant work experience. Reliable transportation. Ability to work at either the Montgomery or Tuskegee campus when required. Ability to successfully pass a background investigation and obtain a facility identification badge before starting work. Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to: Frequently lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs . Stand, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods. Climb ladders and work at heights. Work in confined spaces. Perform work in indoor and outdoor temperatures exceeding 100°F . Work safely in noisy environments while wearing hearing protection. Wear an OSHA-approved respirator and successfully complete a respirator fit test when required. Complete OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training if not already certified (training provided by the contractor). Required Personal Protective Equipment Employees are responsible for supplying and wearing: OSHA-approved steel-toed work boots Safety glasses/eye protection Hearing protection Face mask (cloth masks are not permitted) Work Environment This position is located on a medical center campus .
