Veteran Preference Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Florida Drivers License for required travel. One (1) year experience, preferred. Employer conducts background check, drug screening, and E-Verify.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in the trade. Skill to prepare all types of surfaces for painting. Knowledge of paint types and how to use them.
Job Goal:
To maintain the physical facilities in the District in good condition and to provide asafe, healthy and attractive facility for students and staff.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare all surfaces for painting.
  • Apply appropriate paint to the surface.
  • Mix all paints and solutions according to instructions from supplier.
  • Use appropriate safety equipment to prevent or minimize health hazards.
  • Use only safety inspected ladders and scaffolding in the performance of task.
Inventory supplies, materials and equipment. Requisition supplies and materials needed to perform task. Provide the Director, Maintenance with information needed to develop a budget for the fiscal year. Supervise the maintenance helpers / assistants to ascertain the work is done according to the plan Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Essential Performance Responsibilities Physical Requirements:
Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
