In this energetic role, you will assist experienced painters in preparing and finishing both residential and commercial projects. Responsibilities Assist painters with surface preparation, including sanding, scraping, and cleaning surfaces for painting or finishing. Mix paints, stains, and other materials accurately using proper techniques and tools. Support the application of paint, primer, stain, or sealant using hand tools and power tools such as airless spray equipment. Prepare work areas by covering furniture, floors, and fixtures to protect them from paint splatters or damage. Help with the installation of fixtures, trim carpentry, caulking, and minor repairs during renovation projects. Read blueprints, schematics, or schematics to understand project specifications and ensure accurate work. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by organizing tools, disposing of waste properly, and following safety protocols. Experience Prior experience in construction painting or related trades such as plastering, masonry, or drywall finishing is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and safety equipment used in construction sites. Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and mixing materials accurately. Knowledge of color theory and various painting techniques for residential and commercial projects. Experience reading blueprints or schematics related to renovation or restoration projects is advantageous. Hands-on experience with industrial painting, stucco application, fixture installation, or welding is a plus. A proactive attitude with handyman experience or general maintenance skills will help you succeed in this versatile role.
