In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance aesthetics, and ensure quality craftsmanship on every project. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and passionate about delivering exceptional results that exceed client expectations. Duties Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and patching to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools and power tools such as brushes, rollers, airless sprayers, and spray guns. Read blueprints and schematics to determine project scope, color schemes based on color theory principles, and specific application requirements. Perform residential and commercial painting tasks including wall coatings, trim carpentry, stucco application, plastering, caulking, and fixture installation. Execute renovation projects by restoring surfaces through sanding, patching holes or cracks, and matching existing finishes for seamless results. Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project needs accurately and manage time efficiently on-site. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols related to construction painting, scaffolding use, welding (if applicable), and handling hazardous materials. Qualifications Proven experience in construction painting with a strong understanding of both residential and commercial projects. Familiarity with construction site procedures including blueprint reading and schematics interpretation. Proficiency with hand tools such as brushes, rollers, caulking guns, trowels, as well as power tools including airless sprayers and grinders. Knowledge of surface preparation techniques like plastering, masonry work (including stucco), concrete finishing, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, and masonry repairs. Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and estimations accurately. Experience with industrial painting applications and restoration projects is a plus. Skills in color theory to achieve the desired aesthetic effects in various environments. Strong understanding of safety standards related to construction painting environments including scaffolding use and hazardous material handling. Handyman experience or additional skills such as welding or fixture installation are advantageous for versatile project support.
